Pre-Course for Statistics

For the Tech & Software Master’s programme Data Science, basic knowledge of statistics is an admission requirement for an application. At UE, you have the opportunity to prove this through a preliminary course in statistics. The course is also open to interested parties and students who would like to expand their skills. During the course you will learn the basics of statistics through exercises and apply basic concepts as well as methods of statistics in self-study.

The preliminary course comprises 22.5 hours, which will be spread over a period of approx. 1 month, and covers the following basics of statistics: 

  • Graphical and tabular descriptive techniques
  • Numerical descriptive techniques: measure of location and variability
  • Correlation and Contingency
  • Lineare Regression
  • Probability
  • Introduction to estimation
