Professor Dr Talha Ali Khan is Vice President of Research and Professor of Data Science at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences. His work focuses on the application of artificial intelligence to real-world challenges, particularly in areas such as climate analytics, healthcare, and data-driven decision-making.
He completed his PhD at the University of Technology Sydney under competitive research scholarships. His research interests include explainable AI, predictive modelling, and responsible AI systems, with a strong emphasis on bridging theoretical development and practical implementation.
Professor Khan has published widely in international journals and collaborates with academic and industry partners across Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Asia. His work reflects an interdisciplinary approach, integrating technical, societal, and ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence.
In his role as Vice President of Research, he contributes to shaping the university’s research strategy, strengthening international partnerships, and supporting the development of high-quality, impact-oriented research. He also leads the MSc Data Science programme, ensuring that teaching remains closely aligned with industry and research developments.
He has supervised over 100 student research projects and is committed to supporting the development of future researchers and professionals in artificial intelligence and data science.
