Sports and exercise are trendy and important for staying fit and healthy for a long time. Prevention through sports and exercise is also playing an increasingly incisive role in the healthcare system. In addition, the fitness industry has been recording steady growth for years, both nationally and internationally. With almost 11 million members, fitness is the most successful sport in Germany.

Maintaining health requires a sufficient level of physical and sporting activity. You will learn exactly what this level looks like and how to communicate it to active people and other target groups in a goal-oriented manner in our bachelor’s degree programme in sports science with a focus on fitness and health.

Spotlight Module: "Sports Psychology"

In the module "Sports Psychology" within the Sports Science Fitness & Health program, students explore fundamental concepts and applications of sports psychology. They learn about development, motivation, and learning within sports contexts, along with strategies and methods of mental training. Students gain insight into the psychological requirements across various sports and apply psychological methods to enhance performance in different target groups. Additionally, they understand the psychological aspects of events like injuries and are equipped with motivational coaching techniques tailored for both competitive and health-focused athletes.

What happens after your studies?

In our sports science degree programme with a focus on fitness and health, you will learn competencies and skills that will make you an expert in the supervision and coaching of health and fitness athletes. Take over the sports management at a national or international fitness chain, a renowned health centre, or a rehabilitation facility. Use your knowledge of sports science to steer the fortunes of sports organisations in the healthcare system, or set up your own prevention and health consultancy.
