Are you interested in human behaviour and would like to deepen this interest in a Master's programme? The combination of a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master's degree at UE not only gives prospective students access to a broader professional field but also gives them the opportunity to choose specific areas of study. At UE, we offer the Clinical Psychology Master's degree with a focus on rehabilitation and gerontological psychology, as well as a focus on coaching and counselling. We offer prospective students the opportunity to take a master's degree with both concentrations, thus obtaining a double master's degree.

Spotlight Module: "Clinical Psychology: Psychopathology & Interventions"

In the "Clinical Psychology: Psychopathology & Interventions" module of the MSc Clinical Psychology curriculum, students develop a comprehensive understanding of health and illness. They learn to recognize and diagnose central symptoms of psychological disorders across different levels of manifestation. Additionally, students acquire skills in conducting and documenting psychopathological assessments using the AMDP system. Furthermore, students familiarize themselves with various disorder profiles in clinical psychology, including their etiology, therapeutic approaches, and interventions. They also learn to identify and initiate necessary interventions for acute psychopathological conditions and emergencies, such as psychosis or suicidal risk. Lastly, students explore ethical considerations within the field of clinical psychology, ensuring a holistic understanding of professional practice.

Double Master's programme: Two degrees in 3 years

At UE, you can now opt into our Double Master's Programme, which combines both of our Psychology Master's Programmes. This will allow you to obtain 2 Master's degrees within 3 years. You can find all information at a glance below:

What happens after your studies?


Clinical psychologists
deal with the therapeutic treatment and support of psychologically and physically ill people. Within rehabilitation psychology, the focus is on restoring the participation of people after physical or mental illnesses (e.g. in psychosomatic, neurological, oncological or geriatric rehabilitation) on a clinical-psychological basis. After completing your Master's degree in Psychology, you will find career opportunities as a psychologist in the following areas:

- Rehabilitation or geriatric clinics
- Psychiatric or neurological clinics
- Outpatient care facilities
- Health care and counselling
- Health insurance companies
