New future-oriented study programmes at the Think Campus in Potsdam: Global University Systems opens two new locations for its universities
The international education provider Global University Systems (GUS) is expanding its offering in Germany and is a new high-profile tenant at the Think Campus in Potsdam. From May 2021, international students from the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) and GISMA Business School will come together on their respective brand new campuses, which total around 3,100 square metres. The students will learn and research through future-oriented tech and design degree programmes including Digital Business and Data Science, Innovation Design Management and Game Design, and Artificial Intelligence and Agribusiness, among others.
Global University Systems is an international network of universities that together offer globally recognised degree programmes to around 80,000 students from 150 countries every year – at 42 locations around the globe. In Germany, the network includes the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, the GISMA Business School, the HTK Academy and the Berlin School of Business and Innovation.
Daniel Bolz, CEO of GUS in Germany, discusses the new UE and GISMA locations: “Turning smart thinking into action is the vision of Think Campus and that is exactly where we belong with our universities and programmes. Both UE, which trains the developers, designers and decision-makers of tomorrow using an extraordinary combination of business, technology and design, and GISMA Business School, which focuses on the next generation of international managers, will find sparring partners from the creative and tech industries in the immediate vicinity. In the future, these new university locations will be the platform for cooperation between CIS schools from all over the world and will offer students space for creative work.”
Working worlds for innovative companies
In collaboration with the developer of two new work hubs on the Think Campus, Driven Investment, GUS is now part of the total 11,000-square-metre office ensemble at Jungfernsee. This allows GUS to take advantage of the extensive services and amenities available to innovative companies and start-ups in this inspiring work environment. The real estate company sees the concept of the Think Campus confirmed: “Our location here in Potsdam is becoming a place for forward-looking companies that are helping to shape the world of tomorrow and striving for excellence in numerous fields. As a renowned international education provider, Global University Systems ensures the quality of education worldwide, all while cultivating the networking idea that also underlies our vision for the Think Campus – it’s an excellent fit,” comments Togrul Gönden, Managing Director of Driven Investment.
The overall concept counts
When it comes to accommodating a large number of students, another partner, the real estate service provider Engel & Völkers, offers micro-apartments in the immediate vicinity of the campus, which are less expensive than in the German capital. Willi Weber, Real Estate Consultant at Engel & Völkers, sees a great advantage in the Brandenburg location: “World cultural heritage meets future technologies that are being developed in renowned scientific institutions in Potsdam. This combined with the advantages of a beautiful state capital, with short distances and good connections at the gates of Berlin, is an overall concept which will inspire students.”
