UE Master’s Reform

The UE Master’s Reform

More flexible, more interdisciplinary, and more practice-oriented – the new Master’s programmes make the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) even more attractive!

Today, no one can predict how individual professions will develop. However, one thing is clear, the qualification requirements for young newcomers to professions are becoming more and more complex and are continuing to expand. In the future, it will be more important to combine knowledge from different disciplines and subject areas.

The Master’s programmes at UE allow students to integrate topics of business, tech, data & design into their studies to prepare themselves in the best way possible for tomorrow’s job market. Studies show that the future job market will require more diverse skills.

UE Master's Reform

With the new Master’s Reform, UE is responding to this development at an early stage. By offering students at UE even more flexibility and practical relevance in their studies and allowing them to combine disciplines and thus become as interdisciplinary as possible. In addition, each Master’s degree programme at UE now has flexible elements from other disciplines, because we are convinced that the synergy of business, tech, data, and design will best prepare graduates for the demands of tomorrow’s job market.

Students of selected UE Master’s programmes have the option of taking an “elective module” from completely different subject areas. In addition to this option, there are fixed modules per semester in cooperation with a practice partner, to learn on actual projects.

The advantages for students at a glance:

  • Flexibility to create the perfect master’s programme for you (60, 90, or 120 ECTS).
  • Depending on what is already available and how many ECTS have already been accumulated in your Bachelor’s (and, if applicable Master’s), students can apply for one of the three streams.
  • Practical experience can also be credited here.
  • Interdisciplinary choices between different modules to best equip yourself for the requirements of the job.
  • Participation in the Capstone Project (at 120 ECTS) to bridge the gap between theoretical university knowledge and entering companies.
  • A module that allows you to work directly with partners from the business world.
  • Students from different programmes meet and solve problems together.

Students of selected MA programmes at UE have the choice of a Master’s degree in 60, 90, or 120 ECTS which gives them full flexibility. Students can apply for one of the three options depending on the education they’ve already achieved and how many ECTS they’ve already accumulated in their previous Bachelor’s (or Master’s) courses. Practical experience will also be taken under consideration.

Master Reform Requirements

All master’s programmes at UE are taught from Wednesday to Saturday, meaning that there is still the possibility of working whilst studying. Our goal is to educate young people who think universally and find solutions for the challenges of the future. Our interdisciplinary training at UE, therefore, enables students to look beyond their horizons and prepare them for the job market of tomorrow.
