Prof. Dr. Till Julian Huss is our Research Associate for Art and Media Theory at the Art & Design Department in Berlin and also our Vice Dean at the UE Innovation Hub in Berlin-Potsdam. He holds a Ph.D. in Art & Image History from the Humboldt University of Berlin and his background is in Philosophy, Art Theory, and Art Practice as well. For many years he worked on an interdisciplinary research project at the Cluster of Excellence Image Knowledge Gestaltung, an interdisciplinary Laboratory at HU Berlin. He is well connected in the art scene and frequently writes about and for contemporary artists, galleries and museums. At the UE he started to focus his research on design theory and practice-based research (artistic and design research). Since he teaches partly at the IHUB in Potsdam, his new research interest is a philosophical and cultural critique of interfaces and AI technology. Because of his strong relationships, personal and academic with China, Taiwan and Thailand, he is passionate about diversity and contact zones between Western and Non-Western aesthetics and cultural practices.
