Dr. Rafael Milani Medeiros is Professor of Corporate Management at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences (UE) in Hamburg. His work bridges innovation, technology, and urban management, drawing on over two decades of academic and entrepreneurial experience across Europe, Asia, and South America.
Dr. Medeiros holds two Ph.D. degrees — one in Technology and Society from Technische Universität Berlin and another in Urban Management from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR) in Brazil — alongside a Master’s degree in Urban Management and a Bachelor’s in Product Design. His teaching and research focus on innovation management, globalized value chains, entrepreneurial thinking, and corporate governance in the digital age.
Before joining UE, he lectured and conducted research at HafenCity University Hamburg, Technische Universität Berlin, and PUCPR in Brazil. His teaching philosophy integrates applied research and industry collaboration, bringing real-world business challenges into the classroom through partnerships with companies and public institutions.

Dr. Medeiros is actively involved in international research and development projects funded by the EU and the German Ministry for Research and Education, including CIRC BOOST (EU Horizon) and RESCUE MATE. His projects explore the intersection of technology, sustainability, and management — from AI-supported urban planning in Taiwan to circular value chains in European construction industries.
