Your high school graduation is approaching: dealing with relationships

Are you in the midst of revision stress and focusing all your energy and concentration on your studies?
If you have a partner or you’ve just fallen in love, you may be wondering how you will manage to juggle your revision overload and your relationship. You’ll find some helpful tips in today’s article.

Revision vs. romance

High school graduation exams are generally associated with a lot of cramming, but you should make time for some fun and relaxation too. There is nothing wrong with spending time with your partner. Whether it’s a chilled evening or breakfast together, enjoy the hours you spend with each other.

Perhaps you’ve just fallen in love and your sweetheart has invited you on a date: should you go out or use your time to concentrate on revising? If you’re in love, you may find it hard to focus on your studies.
So say ‘yes’ to your date with a clear conscience. You need variety and perhaps some time off to enjoy yourself will give your brain power a boost. Prepare some revision cards in advance for when you are out and about so you can make use of bus or train journeys to review some key points.

A problem shared is a problem halved

If your sweetheart is also busy preparing for exams, that’s even better! Why not make time to work through your revision together? If you are revising for the same subjects, you could even make it into a competition and see who can learn the most before you meet next time.
Studying together is great but can have its disadvantages. Make sure you don’t distract each other or stray from what you’re supposed to be learning.

Reward yourself

What could be better than contemplating how to reward yourself once your exams are over? You deserve to be rewarded for all your ambition and effort throughout the revision period, and your understanding partner does too.

After your final exams, you’ll be free for a while. So why not use the time to take a holiday together or treat yourself to a romantic weekend somewhere? You can make up for lost time and create some new memories.

If it is not you but your partner  who is coping with exam stress, how about giving them some recognition to boost their motivation? You could surprise your sweetheart with a relaxing massage after a long day, or take them out for a meal at their favorite restaurant.

Even if you are in the middle of preparing for your final exams, it doesn’t mean you have to give up your relationship. You won’t have to sit at your desk 24/7. Spend your mornings or evenings with your partner, or treat yourself to a night out together.
If you are both preparing for your exams, then why not turn your revision sessions into study dates and help each other? You can also plan some little treats for when you finish your exams. This will give you even more to look forward to when you’re finally able to spend more time together.
